Welcome back!  It’s been a while.  I swore when I started this blog I would update it more frequently than say, once every few months!  I blame it on a busy summer.  My oldest started kindergarten this month and I had this nagging feeling that I had to jam pack our summer with as much fun and excitement as possible – as if I were sending him off to college never to be seen or heard from again.  I wanted him (and my two other boys) to have the most fun summer ever before school started for the next, um, 20+ years of my life.  And what a summer we had!  We spent a lot of time going places and being outside, but we also spent a lot of days in the house.  You can’t win ’em all!  Nonetheless, we really enjoyed our summer but now it’s back to school time and I am THRILLED to report that both kindergarten and preschool are a big hit in our house!

Aside from a few trips early on in the summer, the boys and I, along with my mother and sister, spent the first week in August on the Cape in Dennisport, MA.  We spent our time going to the beach, eating lots of yummy seafood and ice cream, catching a glimpse of some seals, and shopping!  It just so happens that my sister’s best friend, Danielle, would be in the area at the same time as her family has a whole compound of houses in Dennisport!  Danielle and her sister, Jennifer, asked if I’d be willing to take some photos of their boys on West Dennis Beach while on vacation.  And who could pass up a beautiful beach session?!  The weather was perfect and the boys were as dapper as ever.  My sister knows these boys quite well and told me all about them before our session.  She said they’d be cooperative, a lot of fun and lively — and boy, was she right!

Danielle and Jennifer each have two boys – three of which are VERY close in age.  But don’t doubt the little one!  He kept right up with the big boys!  We started the session before sunset on West Dennis Beach, a place their family frequently visits.  We took some awesome shots on the fence lined path leading up to the ocean and then moved our way down the beach for some fun near the water!  The boys even got a little daring at the end and climbed up onto the lifeguard stand for some fun photos!  Thankfully, they all made it down without any major injuries – though they gave me quite the scare!  Danielle and Jen – thank you so much for allowing me to capture your boys in a place so special to you.  Your boys were so much fun and well behaved.  You’re definitely doing something right as parents!

Let’s hope now that the school year is under way and we’re in a bit of a routine – you’ll be hearing from me more!  I have some exciting sessions lined up in the next few months that I know I will be eager to share with you all!

Until next time….

Jen
